We are looking for an Experienced Full Time Café Supervisor available to start immediately! Above award pay rate | Monday to Friday role | Tax benefits for working for a charity | Professional development opportunities

OUR WHY:

The Freedom Hub café and events space in Waterloo is a social enterprise with 100% of our profits going to support survivors of modern slavery here in Australia via our Survivor Schools.

WHO ARE WE:

We run our award-winning social enterprise businesses to help with the funding of the administration of these activities:

Cafe, corporate catering, event venue, and online retail. We are Social Traders Accredited. These activities not only raise funds for our Survivor School but they have also become a focal point for community involvement and awareness. As a result, most of our administrative costs are covered by the business, and our supporters’ donations go directly to helping survivors.

● Partner in the fight to end global slavery.

This position is to ensure the development and growth of the café, catering and weekday events of The Freedom Hub.

We strongly believe in building a good culture for our staff and volunteer team as well as the professional development of our staff. We therefore have 1 evening training per quarter plus socials that you would also be required to attend.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?:

● A true hospitality superstar with great customer service skills

● Minimum 2 years experience in a hospitality management role or 2IC position in a large busy café or restaurant

● Experienced at developing a menu and costing it

● Experienced and knowledgeable as a barista

● Experience in both FOH and BOH

● Experience rostering staff and staying within budget

● Experience negotiating with suppliers and managing costs

● Food Safety Supervisor certification

● Strong communication skills

● Experience training and upskilling staff

● Great organisation and administration skills

● Have full working rights to work in Australia (Australian citizen or Permanent Resident preferred)

WHAT IS THE ROLE?

● General working days Monday – Friday (Occasional evenings and weekends may be required with TIL accrued)

● General work hours between 6.30am – and 2pm

● Preparation and serving food and beverage items to customers

● Supervise a very small team of FOH and BOH staff

● Staff training

● Rostering

● Ordering and stock management

● General tidying and organisation of café and event space

● Supervise events held at the café during the day.

● Promote specials and work towards increasing café revenue

● Upholding The Freedom Hub Human Rights Culture among café staff - we have zero tolerance for unkindness
