About the role

Geelong Camera House is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team in Geelong, Victoria. As an Assistant Manager, you will be an integral part of our retail operations, supporting the Store Manager in leading and empowering our passionate team to deliver exceptional customer service and drive sales growth. This is a full-time position based in our Geelong store.

What you'll be doing

• Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including staff scheduling, inventory management, and coordinating merchandising and visual displays
• Provide exceptional customer service, actively engage with customers, and help them find the perfect products to meet their needs
• Provide on-the-job training and coaching to team members to develop their skills and knowledge
• Monitor store performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement effective strategies to drive sales and customer satisfaction
• Ensure the store maintains high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and safety
• Assist with the implementation of marketing campaigns and promotions to drive foot traffic and sales
• Collaborate with the Store Manager to develop and execute short- and long-term plans for the store

What we're looking for

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a retail or customer service role, with proven success in a supervisory or assistant management position a bonus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and team members
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a solutions-oriented mindset
• Proficient in using retail management software and point-of-sale systems
• Passion for the retail industry, with a keen interest in photography and camera equipment
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, to meet the needs of the business
