The club generates a value-added contribution of in excess of 100 million dollars annually to the Peel Districts economy and additionally achieves over 200 million dollars annually across Australian and International wagering channels.
As one of Western Australia's premier racing venues, we host a diverse calendar of 26 events (with Xmas and New Year an extremely busy period) between December and August and are committed to delivering an exceptional experience for our members, industry participants, guests, and the local community.
About the role
Pinjarra Race Club Inc. is looking for a highly capable Office Administrator and Raceday Coordinator to join our team. This full-time role is based in Pinjarra, Western Australia, and will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of race days and financial operations of our thriving racecourse.
The club is in the unique position of having the current Office Administrator assist the successful applicant in the role for several months.
What you'll be doing
- Oversee financial activity, including payroll, accounts payable and receivables, budgeting, and financial reporting. Liaising with the Clubs Auditor as required.
- With advice and guidance from the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), manage the race day operations, coordinate casual staff and area managers, facilities, and logistics to deliver seamless race day events that can see up to 5000 patrons in attendance
- Provide detailed MYOB financial reports to the CEO and the Committee to support decision-making and growth initiatives
- Ensure compliance with all relevant book-keeping standards, Fair Work awards, GST reporting requirements, Associations Incorporation Act and Racing WA industry regulations
- Supervise and mentor the Raceday office casuals' team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to streamline processes and drive operational efficiencies
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as an Office Administrator/Raceday Coordinator or similar event role, ideally within the sports or hospitality industry
- Strong financial administrative skills, including bookkeeping, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
- Excellent organizational capabilities, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
- Demonstrated experience in leading a team of casual raced ay staff
- A working knowledge of relevant bookkeeping standards, GST Reporting, and industry regulations
- Passion for the racing/event industry and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences
