This position is integral to Soundfair’s commitment to holistic hearing support by fostering a community where clients feel a sense of belonging beyond their clinical interactions.
In this unique role, you’ll be responsible for creating and facilitating engaging events, educational sessions, and peer support opportunities, for our growing client community. Equally, you’ll be a critical supporter to our fantastic clinicians, ensuring that the hearing and associated services are smooth and efficient. This will include coordinating hearing aid and equipment postage, triaging repair consultations, and undertaking basic hearing aid troubleshooting and repairs. While this position may occasionally require administrative tasks such as appointment booking, and some payment processing, these tasks will be primarily managed by our virtual admin team. Your primary goal is to ensure our clinicians do their best work, and our clients are empowered to live the best lives.
Key Responsibilities

The perfect place for your smile! Create a welcoming and supportive environment where clients willingly visit us to seek help, learn and for social connection by:
- Proactively build relationships with clients to understand their needs and connect them with relevant services. This may include assisting clients’ complete questionnaires, fill in forms or understand information.
- Facilitate peer introductions and support group connections.
- Plan and execute community engagement events, including regular morning teas with guest speakers, themed discussion sessions, and social connection activities.
- Coordinate group educational sessions (e.g., “Troubleshooting Hearing Aids,” “Communication Strategies for Better Conversations”) using established materials.
- Foster a sense of belonging for clients by encouraging participation in events and peer-led programs.
- Identify opportunities to expand social connection initiatives and introduce new engagement strategies.
- Maintain an inclusive, accessible and clean environment that meets the diverse needs of clients, including ensuring access to coffee/tea/water as needed.
2. Hearing care support
Bring out your inner problem-solver! Ensure that our clinicians have the right equipment, information and environment to provide quality hearing care by:
- Coordinating in and outbound movement of hearing aid and other equipment to ensure timely and accurate distribution to clients or for consultations and repairs.
- Undertaking basic hearing aid troubleshooting and offering guidance on hearing aid management.
- Triaging the need for clinician time to attend to repairs or additional support by assessing hearing aids and clients’ questions.
- Encourage and welcome feedback from our clients, ensuring this is communicated to our clinical and management team.
3. Administrative & Support Functions
Whip our systems into shape! Ensure smooth and efficient operations of the practice by:
- Working collaboratively with the operations and clinical team, including our virtual admin team.
- Participating in organisational projects and activities that align with strategic goals.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as entering client data, bookings, queries, taking payments, digitising client files etc as required, (noting that this is primarily undertaken by our virtual admin team).
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, including administration of some funding sources (eg CHSP program or small community grants) and undertaking end of day/week revenue finalisation.
- Coordinate incoming/outgoing mail and deliveries.
- Maintain the collaborative spaces and storage including overseeing the order of consumables, equipment and stock.
