About Graham House Community Centre
Graham House is a Community Centre providing a range of services for the South Burnett community. The South Burnett is a rural region 200-300 kms north-west of Brisbane. Our main building is in Murgon, one of the small towns in the region.

About Building Futures Together (BFT)
BFT supports clients of the Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety, South Burnett Child Safety Service Centre (SBCSSC) where ongoing intervention with a family is required by Child Safety Services.
Our Intensive Family Support Workers play a key role in preserving families where a child remains living at home under ongoing intervention by Child Safety Services and assisting in the reunification of children with their family from an out-of-home care placement.
Core responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with children and their families in situations of high stress and conflict;
- Work with individuals and families with a focus on developing living skills, parenting skills and family and household management skills;
- Work collaboratively with other support agencies and stakeholders;
- Provide relevant information to Child Safety and the Board through case notes and reports;
- Ensure ongoing intervention with the child and family remains focused on the goal of the Child Safety case plan or support plan.
To be considered for this position you must have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications such as a Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services etc.;
- Relevant experience in working with children and families and assisting parents to increase their parenting abilities;
- Knowledge of household management skills and parenting strategies and ability to impart same to families;
- Demonstrated skill in communicating and negotiating effectively with managers, staff members, peers, and community members;
- Demonstrated ability to network and liaise with a range of community, government and non-government stakeholders and organisations;
- High level written and verbal communication skills including writing case notes and participating in case discussions;
- Experience in Case Management and report writing;
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills;
- Demonstrated computer and associated software skills;
- Current Blue Card.
