About the Roles:

We're looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our kitchen team at Dune Beer Co. We are a new venue in Albany, WA. We have several exciting opportunities available, from leading the culinary vision as our Head Chef to contributing as a skilled Chef or supporting the team as a valuable Kitchen Assistant. 1. Head Chef

  • Menu Development: Create innovative and delicious menus that reflect Dune Beer Co.'s culinary vision and utilise local, sustainable ingredients whenever possible.
  • Kitchen Management: Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including staff scheduling, training, performance reviews, and inventory management.
  • Food Quality: Ensure the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation.
  • Cost Control: Manage food costs and minimise waste.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate the kitchen team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Hygiene & Safety: Maintain the highest standards of kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and safety.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Venue Manager and other team members to ensure smooth and efficient restaurant operations.
  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a reputable restaurant.
  • Strong culinary skills and a passion for creating delicious food.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Knowledge of food costing, inventory management, and kitchen operations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure effectively.
  • A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
  • Formal culinary training or certification is preferred.
  • A genuine interest in environmental sustainability and a commitment to incorporating those values into kitchen operations.

2. Chef

  • Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook dishes according to menu specifications and recipes.
  • Station Management: Manage a specific kitchen station (e.g., grill, sauté, pantry) efficiently and effectively.
  • Quality Control: Ensure food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and consistency.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Hygiene & Safety: Maintain a clean and organised work station and adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Previous experience as a Chef or Cook in a restaurant.
  • Strong culinary skills and a passion for food.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure effectively.
  • A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Formal culinary training is a plus.

3. Kitchen Assistant

  • Food Preparation: Assist with basic food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, washing produce, and portioning ingredients.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and work areas.
  • Dishwashing: Assist with dishwashing duties as needed.
  • Stocking & Organization: Assist with stocking and organizing kitchen supplies.
  • Support: Provide support to Chefs and other kitchen staff as needed.
  • No prior kitchen experience is required; we are willing to train the right candidate.
  • A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure effectively.
  • Willingness to learn and contribute to the team.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene is a plus.
