We are seeking a passionate, talented, and dedicated chef to join our dynamic team in creating exceptional culinary experiences.
About the Role:
As a chef at Dier Makr, you will play an integral role in preparing and presenting dishes that highlight the exceptional flavours of local Tasmanian produce. You will work closely with the head chef and team to create seasonal menus that embrace innovation, sustainability, and the artistry of natural wine pairings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and execute high-quality dishes showcasing locally sourced seasonal produce
- Collaborate with the head chef to develop innovative dishes that deliver a cohesive dining experience
- Maintain impeccable food safety and hygiene standards
- Oversee kitchen operations to ensure smooth service flow
- Foster a collaborative, creative, and positive work environment
- Work with our team to refine food and wine pairings, learning about natural wines and their role in enhancing the dining experience
- Assist in managing kitchen inventory and ordering local produce
About You:
We’re looking for a chef who is passionate about Tasmanian produce, appreciates the nuances of natural wines, and is eager to create dishes that leave a lasting impression. Ideal candidates will have:
- Proven experience in a high-end or innovative kitchen
- A strong understanding of seasonal and local ingredients
- Interest or experience with natural wines and wine pairing
- A collaborative and flexible approach to teamwork

Remuneration
Annual salary of $75,000 based on a 38 hour week plus superannuation.
