Iconic 100+ year old venue, the Farmers Arms, located on the main street of Beeac. We are known for our great food, friendly service and good times. Our menu is a mix of pub classics and modern creations from the land and sea.
The Role
The Farmers Arms Beeac operating under Flat Out Enterprises Pty Ltd, a beloved country pub known for its warm hospitality and delicious meals, is looking for a talented and passionate chef to join our team. Salary
This is for a full-time role with an annual salary of $74000 plus superannuation.
Duties will include
- Passionate about cooking
- Should be able to work in every station of the kitchen.
- Demonstrated experience working as a qualified chef in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
- Creating an innovative and appealing menu, including specials, which are aligned with our target audience.
- Developing and improving recipes and current menu items while ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and quality.
- Preparation of ingredients and ensuring they are of high quality, meeting food safety and hygiene standards.
- Collaborating with front-of-house staff to ensure the best possible dining experience for our customers.
- Excellent pan skills, solid knowledge of sauces with a creative flair, and the ability to prepare a diverse range of dishes.
- A strong understanding of portion control and food cost management to ensure profitability.
- Managing and mentoring junior kitchen staff, including training and supervising apprentices or cooks.
- A strong understanding of ordering, supplier management, stock rotation, and conducting regular stock take.
- Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, kitchen hygiene standards, and Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) requirements.
- Planning and executing special events, including menu selection, ingredient sourcing, and preparation.
- Monitoring food presentation and ensuring dishes are prepared to a high standard before serving.
- Developing and implementing kitchen operational procedures to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Handling customer feedback related to food quality and making necessary adjustments to improve customer satisfaction.

Requirements
- 2 years’ full time work experience.
- AQF Certificate III or higher.
- Exceptional organisation, communication and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work as part of a team, and unsupervised.
