About the Role

This role is associated with a 305-bed regional referral hospital in Central Queensland. The hospital provides a range of services including emergency, surgical, mental health, maternity, and specialist outpatient clinics.

As the successful applicant, you will be working in the Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service. You will be supported by multidisciplinary teams including nurses, psychologists, social workers, medical officers, psychiatrists, occupational therapists and peer workers, all working collaboratively to provide care and support for individuals and their families living with mental illness. Your responsibilities will include delivering high quality psychiatry services, providing clinical leadership for the Mental Health clinical team, and working across multiple sites including other hospitals in the region, outreach clinics and associated mental health clinics.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive health service focused on ongoing service improvement to meet mental health needs in Queensland. Currently the Queensland Government has committed $1.645 billion in new funding over the next five years to improve mental health, alcohol and other drug services and for a range of initiatives to support suicide prevention.
