About the opportunity:

Position: Principal Dental Officer

Vacancy: Permanent full-time

Location: Oral Health Services, Kirwan Health Campus

This role would suit someone who is passionate about preventative dentistry, who is self-motivated, enjoys working as part of a team and ultimately values high quality patient centred care in an efficient and effective way.

Enjoy a generous remuneration package valued up to $207,701 p.a., including:

  • Salary range: $176,619 to $182,041 p.a. (DO3)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

This position also attracts a 10% loading for the rural incentive scheme for Denists.

Requirements:

  • Possession of a tertiary qualification in dentistry from a recognised institution, and current registration with the Dental Board of Australia.
  • Current licence to operate dental irradiating apparatus is required.
  • All applicants must be awarded Scope of Clinical Practice (SoCP) by the Townsville HHS Credentialing and SoCP committee. All appointments are subject to maintenance of SoCP within the CSCF for the facilities in which clinical work is to be undertaken.
  • Travel: The Principal Dentist will be required to visit and may be rostered to work in other facilities at various locations across the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.
  • The incumbent may be required to travel in this position by road, air or sea and drive Queensland Health vehicles to meet operational requirements of the position. When driving Queensland Health vehicle's possession of a relevant driver's licence is required. Employee's should also be aware that working in a remote location at times may require them to drive “off road” in 4WD vehicles.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
