Your New Role:

This is a rewarding opportunity to work part-time, fixed term for 24-30 hours per week from March 2025 - September 2025 with a possibility for extension.

We are seeking a Communications Coordinator who is passionate about early childhood education and community engagement. The ideal candidate will have strong writing and editing skills, experience in developing professional communications for funders and partners, and the ability to create compelling content tailored to different audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Development: Create, proofread, and edit for various communication channels, ensuring consistency and quality. Develop educational blogs, annual reports, promotional resources, and content for social media platforms and websites.
  • Communication Plans: Develop and implement communication plans to promote Play Matters Australia’s services and offerings. Utilise HubSpot to enhance communication efforts and increase engagement.
  • Collaboration: Work with internal stakeholders to improve communication channels and online portals. Coordinate and promote online webinars, workshops, and sessions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop regular stakeholder and partner communications. Manage relationships with external agencies to ensure high-quality content deliverables.
  • Monitoring and Improvement: Monitor communication trends, recommend improvements, and produce regular reports on engagement metrics.

About You:

  • Minimum three years in a community or educational setting, preferably in the not-for-profit sector.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, proficiency with communication tools (e.g., social media, CMS), and ability to develop professional communications for funders and partners.
  • Familiarity with early childhood education frameworks and project management tools.
  • Experience with HubSpot or other CRM tools.
  • Tertiary qualifications in education, communications, or a related discipline, or significant experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
  • Passionate about making a positive impact for families and communities.
  • Motivated by achieving goals and sharing content.
  • Confident in creating compelling content.

  • Valid paid Blue Card for working with children in Queensland.
