Our commercial division currently has an opportunity for a Principal Recruitment Consultant to step into a piping hot desk with significant candidate and client traction, allowing you to hit pace quickly.

About the Role:
A Principal Recruitment Consultant is a senior-level recruitment professional responsible for managing an end-to-end recruitment process, developing new business opportunities, and mentoring junior consultants.

You will be providing 360-degree end-to-end recruitment services and will have the autonomy to manage and develop your client relationships. With a strong job pipeline and networks that have both depth and quality, Abacus Human Capital can help position you for future success. Key elements of this role will include:

  • Successfully recruit an end-to-end process, largely independently, within your own market sector.
  • Running Job Update meetings with the Consultants, as required.
  • Candidate Sourcing & Recruitment – Identifying and attracting suitable candidates through multiple channels (direct approaches, job ads, social media, and referrals). Maintaining ongoing communication with candidates.
  • Candidate Selection & Placement – Conducting interviews (online or face-to-face), reference checks, background checks, and liaising with hiring managers to place candidates.
  • Client Relationship Management – Developing and maintaining relationships with clients to understand their hiring needs. Attending client meetings, taking job briefs from employers, including role requirements, and salary ranges and understanding company culture. Facilitating salary and employment negotiations between candidates and employers. Resolving disputes and grievances between clients and candidates. Attending client meetings and industry events.
  • Business Development – Develop effective strategies to identify, pursue and secure new clients, including but not limited to the use of market mapping, lead generation and networking.
  • Operational & Compliance Standards – Ensuring recruitment activities meet service delivery standards, legal requirements, and company policies. Completing administrative tasks, including data maintenance. Achieving agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), attending Monthly Performance Enhancement meetings, set quarterly targets with the Director.
  • People Management & Training – Assisting with the management and training of new Recruitment Consultants.
  • Being honest and transparent with clients and candidates.

Your Background:

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 2 years of post-qualification experience in a recruitment role.
  • You should be comfortable working in a 360-degree recruitment role. Your ability to develop new client relationships while servicing existing clients will also be key.
  • Strong work ethic, passion for success, and an ability to back your outcomes.
  • Strong sales experience coupled with excellent negotiation skills
  • You are resilient, a team player and a confident communicator.
