We are currently seeking a Football Operations & Development Coordinator, with a preference for someone who can also play and take on an on-field Senior Assistant Coaching role. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute both on and off the field while helping drive the future success of our club.
About the Role
This role is ideal for someone with experience in game development and football operations while also having the ability to contribute on-field as a Senior Assistant Coach. You will work closely with club leadership, coaches, and AFL Cairns to coordinate key aspects of the football program.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate football operations and ensure compliance with AFL Cairns regulations.
- Support game development programs and assist with pathways for junior and senior players.
- Work with the Football Director on recruitment, player contracts, and budget management.
- Organize match-day logistics, including team management, training schedules, and game-day support.
- Assist with player development and welfare programs.
- Support and mentor volunteers, coaches, and support staff.
- Build relationships with schools and community programs to grow football participation.
- Assist with club events and fundraising initiatives to support football operations.
- On-field role as a Senior Assistant Coach, providing leadership and mentoring players.
About You
- Experience in football operations, game development, or sports administration.
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with players, staff, and volunteers.
- Knowledge of AFL competition structures, rules, and player pathways.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Playing experience at a high level preferred.
- AFL Level 1 Coaching Accreditation (or willingness to obtain).
Salary & Benefits
- Coach Grade 1 Salary (based on experience).
