About the role:
You will provide community based support of regionally managed Community Development, Technical and Infrastructure, Corporate, and Governance Services, as well as support community Local Authority and Elected Members (Councillors).
You will also be responsible for delivering effective and quality services, related to waste management, parks and gardens, cemetery maintenance, local road maintenance and various other Council infrastructure works within the community.
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:
- Tertiary qualifications, or substantial experience in effective local service delivery, leadership and operations management.
- Trade or tertiary qualification in a related discipline (i.e. Environmental Management, Mechanic, Horticulture, Road Plant & Machinery Operation, Training), or substantive industry experience.
- Effective critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills, complemented by strong interpersonal skills, including high level written and oral communication skills.
- Previous experience in facilitation, mediation, negotiation, and management, with a proven track record of effectively leading diverse teams and mentoring staff at all levels in a dynamic and cross-cultural environment.
- High level office administration skills, including the use of Microsoft Office software (particularly Word, Excel and Outlook) and an ability to learn new software.
- Demonstrated experience in maintaining a safe working environment and to ensure that all Workplace, Health and Safety regulations are adhered to.
- Practical experience in road construction, parks and garden maintenance, and/or other civil works.
- Must hold a current Medium Rigid (MR) and C Class Drivers Licence, with ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
It would be desirable if you also possessed:
- Heavy Rigid (HR), Backhoe and Skid Steer Loader license, or the ability to obtain.
- Previous experience living and/or working in a remote First Nations community within Australia.
- Tertiary or trade qualifications, or substantive industry experience in a related discipline (i.e. training and assessment, environment management, horticulture, and/or plant operations).
- Awareness of issues affecting First Nations People in Australia.
All employment with EARC is subject to the successful completion of a Criminal History Check and the ability to obtain a Working with Children Clearance. Criminal history will not exclude an applicant unless it is relevant to the position.
The preferred applicant must be prepared to travel and work for short periods in remote communities by various means including boat and light aircraft.

What you'll get in return:
Full Time Permanent employment.
Level 7 - Salary $99,086 - $105,120 (excluding superannuation contributions and locality allowance) with annual wage increase opportunities built into our EBA.
You will also benefit from 6 weeks of annual leave with 17.5% leave loading.
