Communications Officer based south of the river

Your new company

The government department is based south of the river in Fremantle & Kwinana, WA (Minimum 2 days per week in Kwinana). You would need to be prepared to attend both locations for work.

Your new role

The Communications Officer will partner with various divisions to undertake internal and external communication project activities. Key duties include:

• Preparing and delivering strategies and tactics for communicating initiatives and projects to employees and stakeholders.
• Researching, writing, and delivering internal communications materials and products, and assisting managers and supervisors in effective internal communications.
• Assisting in the delivery of communications training.
• Liaising with other departments to collect and process information for inclusion in publications and to contribute through the preparation of communications initiatives.
• Scheduling and undertaking activities in line with communications planning.
• Taking photographs and videos as required for use in communication activities.
• Performing other communications tasks as required.

What you'll need to succeed

• Tertiary or industry qualification in a relevant field.
• Proven track record in developing and executing project communication strategies, including the delivery of on-ground activities that deliver practical outcomes.
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience in Microsoft SharePoint.
• Experience in an operational environment is desirable.
