The Role

We are looking for a self-motivated Maintenance Officer to join our team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manger, this is a hands-on, physical role responsible for both preventative and corrective maintenance in pools, building and gardens around the property. The successful candidate will join our team initially on a one year fixed-term full time contract, with a view to extend based on performance.

General Handyperson duties

• Maintain apartments, buildings, service, plant and equipment as required
• Liaise with the Front Office team and respond to guest maintenance issues in a timely manner and report back on progress and completion.
• Identify preventative maintenance requirements and report to the Manager.
• Assist with repair and minor renovation work.

• Experience as a plasterer will be highly regarded/.

Grounds & Gardens

• Keep public areas clean tidy and presentable at all times
• Trimming, mowing of surrounds, weeding and watering as required
• Gardening duties include the planting and trimming of trees, sowing, planting and cutting of grass, and the watering of plants, gardens, trees, lawns and displays.
• Completion of basic records.

Pool maintenance

• Responsible for cleaning and maintenance of common and private pools
• Water testing and analysis
• Completion of pool maintenance records
• Maintenance and minor repairs of pool equipment

Qualifications & experience

• Current Manual Drivers License essential
• Experience in similar capacity is desirable
• Able to work both as part of a team but also autonomously with a strong independent work ethic
• Good customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
• Personable nature, with good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise whilst always representing business objectives and to meet timeframes
• Sound understanding of WHS requirements and risk management practices
• Excellent attention to detail

Must be willing to undergo medical and fitness assessment.
