Senior Metering Technician
Joining our team means you'll be part of something that really matters. As our Senior Metering Technician, you will be based in Bentley, and responsible for provision of expert metering technical support as part of the metering technical services functional group within the metering services team and providing technical leadership as a senior technician.
This is a permanent full-time position.
Your role will include:
- Carrying out complex metering activities including site assessments, audits and inspections of metering installations for compliance on metering engineering design, network design, Technical Rules, Metering Code and relevant Australian Standards
- Installing and inspecting LV & HV CT Metering Installations (large customers) for both exchanges and new connection, to ensure the revenue and reputation of Horizon Power is protected at all times
- Accurately completing commissioning checks on all new connection for HV CT metering (and LV CT metering as required) to ensure the revenue and reputation of Horizon Power is protected at all times
- Planning and / or arranging implementation of all HV CT metering works and assist with LV CT work as required, including communications technology, in the Horizon Power networks
- Assisting in the continuous improvement process for all of the metering service field training packages for CT LV & HV installations, communications technologies installations, and associated works
- Assisting in the development and implementation of meter settings and configuration in CT and whole current meters using metering software
You will have:
- Electrical Worker's License - Endorsed as Electrician
- Extensive post trade experience with development, design, implementation, integration, and maintenance of a wide range of metering systems and supporting infrastructure
- Demonstrated experience with advanced metering infrastructure
- Experience with using Omicron Test Equipment
- Sound understanding of Secondary equipment commissioning practices
- Experience with major vendor metering software such as EZIView and EMPWIN desirable
- Thorough knowledge of and compliance with Safety regulations and practices
