About the role

The People Risk Manager is a Line 1 risk role supporting the adherence to and delivery against the ART Group Risk Management Framework (RMF) across the People & Culture (P&C) Business Area, and across the enterprise for material risks owned by the Chief People Officer (CPO).
This role is a permanent opportunity, and we welcome applicants who are looking for either full time or part-time arrangements with flexible and school friendly working hours.
The purpose of the People Risk Manager role is to assist the CPO and P&C Leadership team to manage risk, audit, incidents and regulatory requirements and promote a strong risk culture ensuring alignment to the ART Group RMF across P&C. The role reports to the Business Manager – P&C Office and actively supports the CPO in meeting their Executive risk management obligations.
Day to day, you'll:
- Ensure application of ART Group RMF and incident management policies are adhered to and that roles, responsibilities and expectations around risk and incident management are well understood within P&C to ensure it operates within risk appetite.
- Support the CPO in managing and monitoring the risk profile of the Material Risks owned by the CPO in line with the Board’s risk appetite.
- Analyse conduct risks in the business and support the General Manager, Performance Reward and Governance in ensuring compliance with the consequence management process as needed.
- Support the P&C Leadership Team in ensuring cohesive alignment and consistency between business unit risk activities and the ART RMF, including identification, analysis and management of risks in accordance with the Board’s risk appetite.
- Support the development, monitoring and reporting of appropriate risk indicators including conducting analysis based on research and industry best practice to proactively identify people and culture risks across the Enterprise, including new and emerging risks to facilitate effective decision making.
- In partnership with P&C control owners, regularly review controls and provide oversight and support for the effective delivery of remediation action plans to address control gaps and improve the management of risks.
- Consult and engage with P&C team members, and Risk & Compliance representatives around risk management matters.
- Work with Line 2 Risk Team to support in the maturity of People Risk across the Enterprise.
- Partner with the Line 1 Risk teams across the Enterprise to implement and embed a consistent approach to managing People Risk across the enterprise.
About you

- A genuine passion for and interest in business improvement, compliance, internal control and risk management.
- Ability to focus on proactive risk management and education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively engage and develop positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including leaders, auditors and front-line team members.
- Demonstrated experience in identifying and mitigating culture & people risks.
- Demonstrated experience in determining, undertaking and tracking the progress of remediation actions and plans to address control gaps and improve the management of risks.
- Proven ability to treat sensitive information in a private and confidential manner and to exercise tact and sound judgement in communicating with others regarding sensitive matters.
- An ability to explain complex concepts and matters in writing and verbally in a manner which enables the audience to understand the key points and effectively conveys the intended message.
