Your New Role!
The Standard Operating Environment (SOE) Engineer is responsible for managing, maintaining and deploying application packaging and deployment services across the University's end-user managed computing environment.
Your key responsibilities will include -
- Managing and maintaining End User Computing SOE.
- Oversee regular testing and maintenance of patches and support packages for the SOE ensuring currency of SOE components on all managed devices.
- Maintain and support Group Policy configuration.
- Resolve routine, ad-hoc & complex enquiries related to SOE services.

This Continuous | Full Time (37.5 hours per week) attracts a remuneration of $95,000 - $105,000 plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

Selection Criteria:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in computing or related field or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Demonstrated experience in SOE application packaging and support, maintenance and implementation for Windows 10, MacOS and Office 365.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Windows family of End User Computing Operating Systems and applications.
- Strong experience administering Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Strong experience with enterprise deployment and management tools (I.e. SCCM).
- Working Knowledge of Incident, Problem, Change and Configuration Management (ITIL) processes.
- Excellent documentation skills, for user training and technical documents.
- Experience in Application packaging and deployment methodologies (Microsoft AppV, MSI, Windows Installer).
- Demonstrated experience with Scripting tools (Powershell, VBScript preferred).
- Advanced software, hardware and environmental troubleshooting ability.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service and a professional approach to providing technical support and advice.
- Demonstrated sound and interpersonal skills to enable effective communication and positive relationships with customers, colleagues and service providers.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and as part of a team to manage workload and priorities.
- Using and contributing to the ongoing development of a comprehensive knowledgebase of support and self-help information
