Our client and their requirements:
We have partnered with a local council in Eastern Victoria and looking to for an experienced Asset Assessment Officer on a casual basis
The Role:
As an Asset Assessment Officer for the Council, you will conduct precise condition assessments, risk assessments, and inventory audits. Capture and provide detailed information on assets.
Your core duties & responsibilities will include:
- Conduct inventory audits and assess the condition and risks of each Council asset class according to Asset Strategy and Asset Management Plans.
- Identify, measure, and document footpath sections that exceed current intervention levels while performing risk assessments of Council footpaths.
- Accurately record and measure all new developer-contributed assets, subdivisions, and newly constructed Council assets using GPS equipment upon practical completion.
- Ensure the precise transfer of collected data from GPS units into the Council's Asset Management System and Geographical Information System (GIS).
- Provide training and support to other Council staff members in using relevant technology.
- Assist in developing Council policies, procedures, and design standards
- Offer support and guidance to Asset Officers to help them perform their roles effectively.
- The accuracy of field measurements and condition data assessed and recorded in the field.
- Highlighting any maintenance issues that are apparent on other Council assets while conducting inspections in the field.
- The completion of tasks within the time allocated.
What you will need to succeed
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Previous experience working for an LGA (preferred)
- Current working with children's check
- Strong knowledge of defects and conditions relevant to each category of Council assets, along with the methodologies used to assess each asset class and condition state.
- Ability to measure and record information accurately and neatly.
- Solid understanding of asset maintenance and rehabilitation practices.
- Comprehensive knowledge of asset design standards.
- Current drivers licence.
