2 X Machine Learning engineers required for long term contract role. C$9,000 per day.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications with a focus on user experience and backend efficiency, transitioning from Dash and Flask to FastAPI and React.
• Work within a Docker swarm environment across development, UAT, and production stages, ensuring seamless application deployment via CI/CD pipelines managed through a self-hosted GitLab instance.
• Manage and optimize containerized applications using Docker, Docker Compose, and Docker Swarm, maintaining consistent deployment practices across varying technical setups.
• Implement and maintain databases (MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL) within Docker environments, ensuring data persistence and reliability.
• Collaborate with the team to integrate service discovery and load balancing using Traefik to enhance application scalability and manageability.
• Contribute to the migration of our data science and application deployment to cloud-native solutions like Databricks and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

Key Skills

• Proficient in Python, with experience in FastAPI, Dash, Flask, and React.
• Strong background in Docker technologies including Docker Swarm, Docker Compose.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitLab.
• Familiarity with both relational and non-relational databases, and the challenges of operating these in containerized environments.
• Knowledge of Traefik for load balancing and service discovery.
• Practical experience in developing and deploying applications in a corporate environment with stringent networking and security protocols.
• Comfortable working on standard-issue corporate hardware with setups including WSL2 and Docker.
• An understanding of open-source software and its integration into business environments.

Desirable Experience

• Experience with data science platforms like Databricks.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services, including AKS and Azure DevOps.
• Prior experience in the insurance sector or other data-intensive industries
