With continued growth, we’re looking for a Bookkeeper to join our team and become an integral part of our client service and operations.

About the Role

As a Bookkeeper at Sapphire Bay Partners, you’ll be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial support of our clients, providing them with critical bookkeeping support, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with Australian tax regulations. You will work closely with both clients and our accounting team to deliver a seamless financial experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bookkeeping & Reconciliations – Maintain accurate financial records and perform reconciliations to ensure consistency.
  • Payroll Processing – Handle payroll processing, superannuation, and compliance with STP.
  • BAS & IAS Preparation & Lodgment – Manage and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) on behalf of clients.
  • Client Calls & Support – Be the first point of contact for clients, answering bookkeeping queries and providing guidance on financial matters.
  • Software Management – Work with Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, and other cloud-based accounting tools.
  • Collaboration with Accountants – Work closely with our accounting team to ensure client outcomes are delivered in a timely and efficient manner.

This is a fully remote role, giving you the flexibility to work from anywhere in Australia while being part of a close-knit, collaborative team.

About You

We’re looking for a highly skilled and client-focused Bookkeeper who brings:

  • 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, ideally in a public accounting firm.
  • Expertise in Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks (certifications preferred).
  • Strong experience in reconciliations, payroll, BAS, and IAS.
  • Confidence in handling client calls, answering queries, and providing helpful advice.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote role yet collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Understanding of Australian tax laws and compliance requirements.
  • Full working rights in Australia – Please note that we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
