About Us:
The Bearded Dragon Hotel, established in 1997, is Scenic Rim's iconic "Hotel in the Paddock," nestled on 5 acres of picturesque Tamborine countryside. Just 40 minutes from Brisbane, Logan, and the Gold Coast on the heart of the Scenic rim aka Gold Coast Hinterland . Our venue boasts a newly refurbished ballroom, upgraded audiovisual equipment, and charming event spaces. We host everything from weddings and corporate retreats to live music gigs, business expos, country markets, and donkey picnics.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Sales, Events & Accommodation Coordinator to manage event bookings, generate new business leads, and oversee accommodation reservations for our 18 onsite rooms. This hands-on role involves everything from initial inquiry to event execution and post-event follow-up.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of event coordination, from initial booking to successful completion.
Respond to enquiries, conduct site inspections, prepare proposals, and secure bookings.
Oversee accommodation reservations for our 18 rooms, ensuring seamless guest experiences.
Develop detailed event plans, including timelines, styling, catering, entertainment, and vendor coordination.
Lead on-the-day event coordination and ensure smooth handover to allocated staff.
Collaborate with the marketing team to create event packages and promotional material.
Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Conduct post-event evaluations, gather feedback, and secure professional imagery for marketing.
Create and manage event budgets, ensuring all expenses are invoiced and paid.
Assist in building a portfolio of events and packages for the business.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have:
A minimum of 1 year of experience in event management, event coordination, or a hospitality role (3+ years preferred).
Food and beverage knowledge with an RMLV certificate (preferred).
Strong communication, organization, and multi-tasking skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Xero and accommodation booking platforms is advantageous.
A valid driver’s license and reliable transport.
Immaculate personal presentation and attention to detail.
Willingness to learn, take initiative, and assist your team across various hospitality tasks.
