About the opportunity:
Position: Director – Social Work
Vacancy: Permanent full-time
Location: Social Work Department, Townsville University Hospital
How you will be assessed:
- Ability to apply an expert level of knowledge and skills in complex contemporary social work clinical practice; and solve large-scale, complex clinical service problems
- Ability to engage, empower and lead an agile social work workforce in their implementation of innovative, evidence-informed care.
- Ability to provide strategic direction and operational management of a complex social work service at a tertiary facility. Demonstrated ability to deliver services within an allocated budget.
- Ability to provide strategic direction within a tertiary facility, across multiple facilities of a HHS, and / or statewide. Demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders to progress social work priorities and deliver person-centred care.
Enjoy a generous remuneration package valued up to $190,788 p.a., including:
- Salary range: $161,540 to $167,217 p.a. (HP6)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

Requirements:
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to commencement of clinical duties.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
- Probation period may apply.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
