The role:
We are looking for a passionate, driven and dedicated Occupational Therapist whose dream job is in a small sensory clinic working with young children mostly under 8 years old. Children commonly seen in the clinic present with developmental disability, ASD, physical disability and movement disorders. The parents are integral to therapy and are encouraged to be involved in the therapy sessions. The successful applicant will be someone who genuinely loves working with kids and is motivated to make a difference in their lives. This position is part time however can be full-time if desired.

About Quickstepz and Benefits:
- We are a small but highly experienced team who are wanting more for the Paediatric population who are currently accessing NDIS funded Early Intervention services across Sydney. We are looking for therapists who are wanting to go back to the basics and work with children in a clinic with the best of the best resources on hand and the proper space and equipment that is needed for the child to partake in OT sessions so that you can do your best for your clients.
- We mostly have a very young cohort of children, some with mild conditions and others with complex and chronic conditions and disabilities. The families and children are the backbone of Quickstepz and everything we do is for them.
- The OT role is suited to someone who has worked in the NDIS/Paediatric space for some time already. We are looking at employing an OT who is already proficient in DIR or ESDM or someone with experience but wants to expand their knowledge in this area. We are looking for an applicant who is on the other end of the continuum of ABA, someone who truly understands Autism, how to truly engage a child with Autism and understands and values the importance of the therapeutic relationship or the relationship the child has with the parent.
- The Physiotherapy role is suited to a senior physiotherapist who wants to work collaboratively with OT’s. We want to place someone in this role who wants to accelerate their growth to become an expert in paediatric physiotherapy, someone who is very passionate about Physio and dedicated to their clients. The role is perfect for a Physio who is already Cuevas Medek Exercises (CME) or DMI trained and who wants to expand their knowledge in this area and become further certified or trained in CME. There are opportunities for working with children in an intensive model of therapy.

In this role, you will:
- Perform assessments and provide evidence-based individual and peer sessions.
- Develop your skills as a DIR/Floortime clinician (OT) or CME/DMI skills (PT).
- Work closely with Quickstepz clinicians and educators through consultation, training, and professional development.
- Have a diverse and engaging paediatric caseload with a focus on complex and chronic conditions/disabilities. Join us as we collaborate with motivated families and fabulous little kids.

About the successful candidate:
- Relevant qualification in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy and minimum 5 years experience working in a paediatric setting.
- Enthusiastic and passionate about a career in Paediatrics.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based practice in the areas of paediatric assessment and intervention including report writing skills and working within the NDIS space.
- Registration with AHPRA.
- Current Professional Indemnity insurance.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and be autonomous, demonstrated organisational skills, and time management skills.
- Demonstrates commitment to continuing professional development.
- Demonstrates knowledge and willingness to learn about a range of conditions including but not limited to ASD, learning difficulties, sensory processing disorders, developmental disability and motor disorders. You will need to have a thorough knowledge of typical and atypical child development.
- Current driver's licence and willingness to use own car for preschool and home visits if needed.
- Current Working with Children's Check.
- Eligible for Medicare Provider Number.
- Full unrestricted Australian working rights.
- Current First Aid certificate.
