We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team and play a vital role in optimising our production processes and maintaining operational efficiency.

About the Role
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the analysis, and optimisation of mechanical and process systems within our food production facility. Your focus will be on enhancing equipment efficiency, implementing cost-effective solutions, and ensuring compliance with engineering principles, industry standards, and workplace safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyse functional statements, operational processes, and system documentation to identify opportunities for mechanical process improvements.
- Apply engineering principles to optimise equipment performance and enhance production efficiency.
- Assess facility layouts, operational data, and production workflows to identify opportunities for mechanical system improvements.
- Design and refine mechanical systems, machinery, and components to align with production requirements.
- Prepare technical specifications for manufacturing processes, including material selection, equipment specifications, and system integration.
- Provide technical recommendations for the selection, installation, and performance evaluation of mechanical systems.
- Ensure compliance with Australian engineering standards, workplace safety regulations, and quality control requirements.
- Conduct inspections and assessments of plant equipment to recommend mechanical system upgrades and process enhancements.
- Offer technical input into maintenance strategies to improve equipment longevity and minimise operational disruptions.
Skills and Experience
- Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a higher qualification.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within the food manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of mechanical system design, automation, and maintenance strategies.
- Experience in optimising manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and engineering best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
