Our client, a large complex Queensland Government organisation, are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager for an initial 12+month contract.
The department is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee the planning phase of a number complex infrastructure (construction) projects.
Throughout the planning phase of the project, the Senior Project Manager will lead both internal and external discussions, oversee the implementation of the project program and be the central point of contact for the project. This role requires an experienced project manager ready to transition into the role or an experienced senior project manager to oversee several projects within the planning phase of the project life cycle.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience on infrastructure (construction) projects, with experience on government infrastructure projects being favourable, and will need to lead a project team to help facilitate the preparation of the team's core deliverables. The Senior Project Manager will be supported by a dedicated project team with technical experts to facilitate the required deliverables and duties.

Key responsibilities/tasks;
- Coordinate teams of external consultants for efficient development of the work
- Assist with procurement activities for the engagement of external consultants
- Liaise as necessary with internal and external stakeholder groups and agencies
- Provide project specific advice to management and the executive, and liaise with other units as required.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members and external consultants
- Build and maintain high levels of communication and collaborative partnerships with internal units and external agencies to facilitate achievement of project objectives
- Develop and maintain project programs to a high standard
- Undertake project risk assessments to a high standard to ensure both project and corporate risks are captured and mitigated
Skills and experienced required;
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in business administration or related field
- Experience in project management, ideally within large scale transformation or transition programs. Experience with built infrastructure projects and Queensland Government is highly desirable.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple workstreams and cross-functional teams is highly desirable.
- Proven expertise in project governance and reporting, including development of project status reports, dashboards, and senior stakeholder (Executive, Board) level reporting.
- Strong risk and issue management capabilities with a demonstrated ability to identify, assess and mitigate risks in complex implementation projects.
- Advanced communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including workstream leads, senior managers, and external partners.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of using datadriven insights to inform project decisions and maintain overall project health.
