The Medical Receptionist Role
You are the first experience for patients attending the clinic and will be a key part of the exceptional service delivery that the practice provides. You will be the welcoming face greeting families when they arrive or the friendly voice on the other end of the telephone.
While ensuring our families are well looked after, you will also be looking after the back office. This includes managing the patient waitlist, keeping systems up to date, communicating with relevant stakeholders and making sure the centre operations run smoothly.
You will make sure all appointments are booked and any cancellations are filled.
Skills/Experience
You have:
- Excellent communication skills across all modes
- A positive and optimistic disposition
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a broad range of people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences
- The ability to control situations, being assertive when needed while maintaining a pleasant disposition throughout
- An awareness to recognise times where you need to show empathy, understanding and care
- Advanced computer skills including word processing, management of spreadsheets, and database applications
- A warm, bright, and friendly positive attitude
- Deep respect for patient and practice confidentiality
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- An ability to work independently, with limited supervision
- The ability to embrace the challenge of unfamiliar tasks and unique situations
- A focus on solutions, are results-driven and a quick thinker
- Experience with Zedmed practice management software (desirable but not essential)
