An exciting opportunity exists for a Principal Dentist within the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service. This is your opportunity to be part of the transformation and redesign of services within Oral Health within the wonderful geographic environs of the Sunshine Coast. The role of the Principal Dentist is to provide high quality clinical leadership and direction, sharing responsibility for the clinical, operational, safety and value-based performance of the service.

Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver general practitioner oral health services and provide high quality contemporary oral health care.to eligible adults and children at fixed and mobile facilities in hospital, community and school environments.
  • Provide clinical leadership, direction, support and advice to oral health staff and students.
  • Set an example of professional and compassionate leadership for clinical staff throughout the service. Role model performance accountabilities and desired standards of behaviour promoting a positive attitude, enthusiasm, respect and support of other staff.
  • Coordinate and manage the functioning of the Oral Health Service through planning, organisation, leadership, monitoring and evaluation of resources from both a day to day management and a strategic planning perspective.

Remuneration value up to $207 702 p.a., comprising salary between $176 619 - $182 041 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (DO3). Applications will remain current for 12 months. Please note: only applications from candidates will be accepted (applications that may result in an agency fee will not be considered).
