About The Department of Health and Aged Care
The Department of Health and Aged Care develop and deliver policies and programs, and advise the Australian Government on health, aged care and sport. They work with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure better health for all Australians.
Aged care provides support for older people to help them with everyday living and other needs.
The Opportunity
The Department of Health and Aged Care has an immediate need for 30 x APS3 & APS4 data entry officers to support the implementation of the new Aged Care Act and Support at Home. This is in line with the Australian Government commitment that will commence from 1 July 2025.
A staged digital implementation approach has been identified, which will require a surge team of skilled temporary data entry personnel to undertake additional data remediation, case processing and data analysis/reporting capacity within the Department to accommodate the anticipated volume of work.
The Role
Contractors will commence from April 2025, with peak requirements between June and November 2025 to support a range of business processes critical to the functioning of the new Aged Care Act and Support at Home.
Your key duties will be administering data remediation of the following records and/or processes using established Standard Operating Procedures:
- Supporting older people to engage supported decision-makers in line with the human rights-based framework of the new Aged Care Act
- Allocation of funding packages to older people on prioritisation systems for Home Care Packages and Support at Home
- Update of provider information in the Aged Care Gateway (ACG) post-1 July 2025
You will also be responsible for:
- Investigating data issues as identified from other support channels (e.g., contact centre, branch mailboxes, direct etc) consistent with established Standard Operating Procedures
- Documenting data issues in accordance with the Archives Act 1983
The Ideal Person
The ideal person will have:
- Demonstrated experience in business process, data entry, data analysis, and/or service delivery sectors
- Strong attention to detail to ensure data is entered correctly and consistently with a focus on minimising errors
- Experience in identifying and resolving data discrepancies and issues promptly
- Ability to work collaboratively with our APS staff and stakeholders with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desirable experience would be:
- Previous experience and knowledge of working in client relationship management systems, such as Siebel
- Direct experience with the My Aged Care (MAC) Gateway system and/or related portals will be highly regarded
You must have a current Baseline Security Clearance at a minimum and be an Australian Citizen to be considered.
Salary / Rate
- $46/hr - $55/hr + 11.5% Super (depending on experience)
- Roles based in Canberra or Adelaide, remote/WFH options available once training commenced
- Contracts may be offered from April 2025 – June 2026, but peak requirements between June and November 2025
