About the Position

The Mentor will provide support to Children and Young people across all programs that Muloobinba Aboriginal Corporation provides.

We are on the lookout for enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our team and help drive our purpose as an organisation forward. This is an excellent chance to become part of an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO) that values culture, collaboration, community and continuous learning.

The Mentor will develop a structured and trusting relationship with a child or
young person that offers guidance, support and encouragement which will
assist with life skills, education, recreational activities and health.

The Mentor will assist a Child or Young Person in their home, at school or other suitable venues that is negotiated with the Child or Young Person, Carers or School.

Key responsibilities of the Mentor includes transporting Children and Young People to and/or from school as well as extra-curricular activities if required, supporting Children and Young People to participate in education or other
activities, implement appropriate behavioural strategies where necessary as well as other case functions or tasks as required.

This is a Full-time position - 38 hours per week.

You must identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander to apply under section 14D of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.

This position is classed as a Child Related Employment and is subject to relevant Employment Screening.

Position Requirements:

  • Working with Children Check Clearance
  • National Police Check
  • NSW Drivers License
  • Confirmation of Aboriginality
  • COVID 19 Vaccination Certificate (minimum of 2 doses)
Remuneration

A remuneration package will be paid in accordance with the Social, Community, Homecare and Disability Services Industry Award plus superannuation, leave loading and full salary sacrifice.

Wages can be negotiated with the successful applicant.
