Due to our continued business growth, we are looking for an experienced and reliable Maintenance Handyperson to join our team on a full-time, 12 month fixed-term contract providing services at our Aged Care facilities in Victoria, located in Caulfield and surrounding areas. This role will be responsible for ensuring the safety and functionality of the facilities by performing various maintenance and repair tasks. The working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Perform general maintenance and minor repairs across plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and other facility-related issues.
- Carry out repairs to fixtures, doors, windows, floors, and walls.
- Paint and patch walls and surfaces to maintain a clean environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with building systems, equipment, and machinery.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests to ensure a safe living environment.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes, particularly for aged care facilities.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and properly store tools and equipment.
- Work collaboratively with staff to support a safe environment for residents.
- Follow instructions from the Aged Care and Cirka management.
- Provide monthly reports to the facility manager and Cirka management.
To be considered for this role it is essential that you can demonstrate that you possess:
- Proven experience as a handyperson, tradesperson, or in a similar maintenance role.
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and techniques across various trades (plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
- Understanding of safety standards and regulations in aged care facilities.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently while adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.
- White Card (Construction Induction).
- Certificate III in Carpentry, General Maintenance or similar disciplines.
- Previous experience in an aged care environment is highly preferred.

- Necessary vaccinations (3 doses of Covid-19 vaccination and 2024 Flu vaccine).
