About us:

The Central Queensland Mental Health – Alcohol and Other Drugs Service provides specialist mental health, substance and alcohol related care to the residents of Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands & Banana areas (catchments in excess of a population of 250,000) with services located in each area. Rockhampton is the principal service centre and as such provides the administration of the Mental Health Act, 2016, in addition being the location of Acute Adult Inpatient facilities and an Adult Community Care Unit.

The Central Queensland Mental Health – Alcohol and Other Drugs Services works in collaboration with the local hospitals, other mental health and alcohol and other drugs teams, as well as primary health, community and private sector providers to reduce the symptoms of mental illness and facilitate recovery.

About the role:

The Forensic Liaison Officer (FLO) utilises high level knowledge and skills to work collaboratively with community and inpatient mental health services, statewide services, other government and non-government organisations to provide oversight, monitoring and coordination of the treatment and care of Forensic Order (Mental Health) (FO), Forensic Order (Disability) (FO-D), Treatment Support Order (TSO) and other identified higher risk patients as per the requirements of the Mental Health Act 2016; and the Chief Psychiatrist Policy for the treatment and care of patients subject to a Forensic Order, Treatment Support Order or other identified higher risk patients, other relevant Statewide policies and the FLO network standards.

The FLO actively contributes to the statewide FLO Network and works closely with the Program Coordinator Statewide FLO Network, Queensland Forensic Mental Health Service. The FLO assists the Hospital and Health Service (HHS) mental health service to develop capacity to confidently work with FO, TSO and complex higher-risk consumers.

About you:

Hold qualifications and registration with the appropriate registration authority to practice in any of the following:

  • Occupational Therapy
  • Psychology
  • Social Work
  • Registered Nurse
What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $164,212 is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $66.85 - $72.58 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
