About the Role
Barnardos are looking for 2 part-time permanent Youth and Family Caseworkers for the Adolescent Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Diversionary (ADAPT) Program based in Cranebrook, 2749.
2 positions available: 4 days/week & 3 days/week.
The Youth and Family Caseworker will be responsible for;
- Provide case management, care coordination, and advocacy for young people with complex needs accessing AOD treatment and support services
- Conduct assessments to identify client needs, goals, risks, and develop tailored case plans with safety planning as required
- Work collaboratively with health and social services to address AOD-specific issues, including withdrawal and psychosocial counseling
- Deliver diversionary activities, including youth groups and school holiday programs
- Facilitate regular training sessions and workshops on drug and alcohol-related topics for young people, parents, and stakeholders
- Liaise with external services, attending interagency meetings and maintaining partnerships with government and non-government organisations
- Collaborate with the Program Manager to plan and deliver activities and workshops
- Maintain accurate records in line with E-Scarf, Barnardos policies, and program procedures
About You
As a Youth and Family Caseworker, you will ideally have;
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Science, Social Work, Community Services, or a related field
- At least 2 years’ experience working with young people and families in a child protection context
- Knowledge of alcohol and drug issues affecting young people and youth homelessness
- Experience in group facilitation and managing group dynamics (training in Love Bites, RAGE, Chillax, drumbeat etc, is an advantage)
- Understanding of NSW Child Protection legislation and assertive case management practices
- Current Full NSW Driver Licence

Salary: Base $73,804 to $91,259 pro rata per annum plus leave loading plus superannuation. Packaging available to receive $15,860 of your salary tax free. Motor vehicle packaging available on selected roles.
To be considered for roles with Barnardos you will need to have (or be willing to have conducted) a National Police Clearance and current Working with Children check Clearance (or APP number) and for the ACT a Drivers History Check, Working with Vulnerable People Card and CYPS Check.
