About the Role:
We are looking for a reliable and skilled Kitchen Hand to join a dynamic team at Brisbane Airport. The role involves supporting kitchen operations within a busy environment, ensuring the smooth preparation of meals for large-scale catering operations for different Airlines. You will be working in a fast-paced, high-volume setting, preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring all kitchen equipment is in top condition. Good knife skills are essential for this position to assist in food preparation and service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients.
• Ensure the kitchen is clean and organised at all times, following strict hygiene standards.
• Wash dishes and kitchen equipment, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for use.
• Help with stock rotation and ensure ingredients are stored properly.
• Support the chefs and kitchen team in day-to-day tasks to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
• Follow instructions from the kitchen team to assist with meal production and plating.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Good knife skills and experience in food preparation.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Previous experience as a kitchen hand or in a similar role is highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to follow instructions and work well under pressure.
