ABOUT THE ROLE

The Project Manager position forms part of the Senior Leadership team and will be a key figure in ensuring the success and growth of Melbourne Electrical Maintenance's Projects Division. The purpose of this role is to oversee and manage the full lifecycle of commercial electrical projects, from identifying opportunities in market, managing the initial tendering phase through to successful project completion. This includes preparing and submitting competitive tenders, managing all labour and material requirements, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Additionally, the Project Manager will take ownership of the entire Projects Division, playing a pivotal role in driving its expansion. With the opportunity to work on projects up to $5,000,000, the successful candidate will have the autonomy to explore new business opportunities, expanding the scope of the division and contributing to the long-term success of the company. The position is designed for an individual who is not only capable of managing individual projects but is also eager to lead the division's growth and establish lasting partnerships within the commercial electrical sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the tendering process, prepare detailed and competitive quotes, and submit proposals for new commercial projects.
• Manage the execution of projects from start to finish, ensuring timely delivery, budget compliance, and quality standards.
• Coordinate all project resources, including labour, materials, and subcontractors, while ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
• Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, consultants, and suppliers.
• Oversee project scheduling, cost control, and reporting to ensure optimal resource allocation and project profitability.
• Identify new business opportunities and explore ways to expand the company’s project portfolio.
• Take ownership of the Projects Division, providing leadership, guidance, and direction to the team.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies throughout the lifecycle of each project.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase divisional efficiency, performance, and profitability.

ABOUT YOU

• A-Class Electrician (prefered, not manditory)
• 3+ Years experience in electrical project management
• Experience with ‘SimPro’ (prefered, not manditory)
• Experience with ‘Groudplan’ (prefered, not manditory)
• In-depth understanding of electrical systems, commercial construction, and project management methodologies.
• Proven ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously while effectively prioritising tasks and resources.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, fostering strong relationships with clients, consultants, and suppliers.
• Leadership abilities with experience in guiding and mentoring teams towards achieving project success.
• Strong commercial awareness with the capacity to identify new business opportunities and drive growth.
• Comprehensive knowledge of tendering processes, budgeting, scheduling, and managing project contracts.
• Highly proactive and self-motivated, with a strong drive to take initiative and fuel business expansion.
• A team-oriented individual who excels in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex and challenging project issues.
