About the Role

As the 2IC to the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the Engineering department, ensuring high-quality output while working closely with Production, Engineering, and Sales. This is a hands-on position where you will:

• Manage and distribute the drafting team's workload.
• Review and check 3D models & 2D drawings for accuracy and compliance.
• Oversee the Redline drawing corrections system.
• Coach and mentor the drafting team to develop their skills.
• Ensure all work meets Australian & ISO drafting standards.
• Support the Engineering & Sales teams with technical expertise.
• Collaborate with Production to meet project deadlines.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience leading and developing design drafters.
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (2D & 3D).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, preferably in sheet metal.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and leadership skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).

Desirable Skills

• Experience with sheet metal design & drafting.
• Familiarity with Redline drawing corrections.
• ERP system experience (preferably Epicor).
