As a Principal Integrity Officer, you will use your highly developed knowledge of legislation, policies and practices within the Queensland Public Sector to (a) assess complaint information for suspected corrupt conduct and public interest disclosures, (b) oversee and autonomously conduct high level, complex and sensitive investigations relating to suspected corrupt conduct and public interest disclosures, and (c) provide advice on integrity related matters, such as conflicts of interest, lobbying and complaint management. You will work collaboratively with your team and others in identifying and delivering client centric solutions with mutually beneficial outcomes.

What you will be doing:
• Manage, coordinate and conduct the intake and assessment of complaints for corrupt conduct and public interest disclosures, including making necessary enquiries, liaising with relevant stakeholders, identifying risks, ensuring compliance with mandatory reporting obligations and preparing documentation/referrals in response to complaints of suspected corrupt conduct and public interest disclosures.
• Provide high-level authoritative, strategic advice and support to the department in the assessment and management of complex and sensitive integrity related complaints, including appropriate actions to address the complaints, the protection of disclosers from reprisals, record keeping and reporting in accordance with legislative requirements.
• Autonomously and with limited supervision manage, coordinate and conduct high level, complex and sensitive investigations of suspected corrupt conduct, which may include investigations into the business activities of the department and/or public interest disclosures.
• Prepare and deliver education programs and activities aimed at increasing staff awareness in relation to public sector ethics, corruption detection and prevention, and corrupt conduct and public interest disclosures reporting and management.
• Develop, implement and advise on current and emerging integrity related policies, processes and issues to foster an ethical organisational culture.
• Ensure the provision of contemporary, high quality integrity advice and services to the department including, but not limited to, conflicts of interest, fraud, lobbying, complaint management, record keeping and reporting.
• Develop positive and effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders such as the Crime and Corruption Commission, Queensland Police Service, Queensland Ombudsman and other investigative authorities to support the delivery of high-quality assessments and management of complaints.

Please note that due to the recent Machinery of Government change, this department is now the Department of Housing and Public Works.
