The Fresh Food Merchant, a family owned and operated City Grocer, is searching for vibrant Delicatessen Assistants &/Or Retail Service Assistants to join our team. Located at the site of the old Cressy Trading Co. this speciality grocer has restored the hustle & bustle of this once iconic local trading hall. Offering a convenient one stop shop for consumers to purchase all things market fresh, locally sourced (where possible) and authentic at the best possible price.

Vibrant owners are looking for enthusiastic people, at both senior and entry level, with a passion for all types of food to join the Merchant team.

We are hiring:

• General Retail Assistants for our Speciality Grocery Store

• Delicatessen Assistants for our Slice On Demand Delicatessen

As a General Retail Assistant your duties will include product placement, product merchandising, money handling , general cleaning, stock rotation ( Fresh and Shelf Stable) and providing Outstanding customer service.

As a Delicatessen Assistant your duties will include Learning about Product (we will train you), Delicatessen Case merchandising, general cleaning, stock rotation (Fresh & Stable), repackaging product for sale, Slicing and or Portioning a huge range of Boutique Cheese & Cured Meats and producing amazing platters.

With our customer's satisfaction at the forefront, our employees offer personalised service to our Customers & possess an innate talent for building strong lasting relationships with them.

Casual, part-time and full-time positions available for the right candidate.

To be considered you will have:

• A commitment to providing great customer service by working with enthusiasm, energy, and pace

• The availability to work flexible hours, including Saturdays and Sundays ( In December only)

• Experience or the ability to learn cash handling and operating a register

• A genuine passion for food

• Be friendly, fun and energetic

• Great presentation and a high level of personal grooming.

• Physically capable of being on your feet for long periods of time

• Able to work autonomously, efficiently and think laterally.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills

• Food Safety & Handling Certificate preferable but not essential
