Queensland Pre-Stressing Pty Ltd (QPS) is an industry leader in Specialist Ground Engineering services. QPS works throughout Australia on a variety of construction projects requiring retention techniques including rock anchoring, drilling, grouting, piling and specialised steel fabrication.

QPS are currently seeking a diesel fitter (full time) with previous experience in diesel fitting heavy earthmoving machinery and drilling equipment. Employment will be based at our North Brisbane workshop and may require travel to construction sites from time to time. The successful candidate will be willing to learn and develop skills in electrics, hydraulics, and fabrication. It is a condition of employment that you agree to random drug and alcohol testing at the company’s discretion.

The primary duties of the role will include:

• Repair and maintenance of mobile plant and equipment including Drill Rigs, 4WDs, Trucks, Compressors, Forklifts and Generators
• Maintaining inventory levels to align with maintenance needs, ensuring all plant and equipment operate safely and effectively
• Ensuring all activities are performed in compliance with the requirements of the quality, safety, and environment management systems
• Work independently and in a team to complete jobs in a timely and efficient manner
• Accurately complete all required paperwork and documentation

The candidate we are looking for will have:

• Trade Certificate Mechanical Fitter (Diesel) Or Diesel Mechanical Fitter
• Experience on heavy plant and equipment as well as smaller vehicles, engines, transmissions and hydraulics
• Demonstrated ability to acquire knowledge in the safe use of plant and equipment and awareness of safety in the workplace
• Current drivers license
• Sound computer skills and timely paperwork management
• Extensive commitment and understanding of all matters relating to health, safety and environment
