About the role

Permanent full time opportunity to provide advanced clinical support pharmaceutical services delegated by, and under the supervision of, a Clinical Lead Pharmacist or Senior Administration Officer where appropriate.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Provide a defined range of clinical support tasks for patients relating to components of the medicines management cycle, in line with professional standards with appropriate training, supervision and competency assessments, under the delegation and guidance of a pharmacist, including but not limited to dispensing, conducting medication histories, obtaining medication information from external departments, entering information for discharge medication records.
  • Conduct inventory management including ordering, receiving, storage, distribution and stocktake of medicines under the delegation and guidance of a senior administration officer.
  • Maintenance and payment of financial accounts in regard to procurement.
  • Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, in a clinical support capacity, under the direct supervision of a pharmacist conforming to current legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Refer to and liaise with health care providers within the immediate team as well as community health providers such as community pharmacists, residential care facility staff and general practitioners, under the delegation of a pharmacist.
