The Human Resources Business Partner plays a crucial role in supporting the business by partnering with leaders and the HR team to provide practical HR advice and support. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your HR career while contributing to key people initiatives that support our values and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Actively contribute to creating a positive and engaging workplace culture, in line with our clients company values and leadership principles
• Support operational teams by offering guidance, coaching, and development opportunities for leaders and staff
• Play a key role in handling performance-related matters, restructuring efforts, investigations, and conciliation processes, ensuring fairness and alignment with company policies
• Assist in the implementation of initiatives that enhance employee engagement, diversity, inclusion, and overall job satisfaction
• Contribute to preparing tender responses, ensuring that HR initiatives are clearly represented
• Support the development and negotiation of enterprise agreements in alignment with the business plan
• Help implement HR programs that support the ongoing development of employees and improve business outcomes
• Assist with tracking key HR metrics to ensure alignment with business goals
• Support cost-effective planning and optimization of resources, including employees, contractors, and labour hire
• Assist in annual salary reviews, benchmarking, and remediation plans to ensure competitive and fair remuneration for the business
Experience and Expertise
• Previous HR experience, ideally in a blue-collar or unionised environment, or a similar setting
• Exposure to HR metrics and performance-based environments
• Experience or interest in employee relations, including dealing with performance issues or supporting negotiations
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and dealing with multiple HR functions
Critical Knowledge
• Tertiary qualifications in HR, ER, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Understanding of employee relations legislation and HR best practices
• Ability to support HR policies, systems, and procedures to ensure smooth operational flow
Key Competencies
• Commercial awareness and understanding of business needs
• Strong communication skills and emotional intelligence
• Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to problem-solving
