In your downtime, we will provide 2 return airfares p.a. (inc. spouse/dependents) to the nearest east coast provincial city in conjunction with your recreation leave; of which we offer 5 weeks p.a. with a 17.5% loading/bonus.
- Base salary ranges between $107,960 and $115,604 p.a. (Nurse Grade 6 (Band 1)).

Mornington Island Hospital is a remote Level 2 hospital under the Rural and Remote Clinical Services Capability Framework. The facility provides 24-hour acute inpatient and accident and emergency care. Staffing consists of a medical officer and registered nurses on each shift 24 hours a day, with administration support, cleaners and maintenance workers. Mornington Island Hospital consists of 8 general medical beds and 4 Emergency department beds.
About the role
The Clinical Nurse (CN) role provides advanced clinical and problem-solving skills, expert planning, and coordination skills in the clinical management of patients/residents/clients with complex care needs, ensuring quality standards are met. This role works autonomously within the healthcare team structure and is pivotal in the planning, managing, and delivering of specialist nursing care. The CN provides clinical leadership for professional and clinical practice, education, and research.
The location for this position is Mornington Island Hospital, Mornington Island.
Requirements
- Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
- A post graduate qualification or currently enrolled in a post graduate program in a relevant area of study is highly desirable.
- Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster.
- Appointees will also be required to participate in an on-call roster.
- The position may involve travel to various facilities or units within the North West Hospital and Health Service.
- C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
- Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
- This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
