Assembl are working closely with an AI/ML tech company who have built a platform that handles millions of transactions every day with billions of data points which give engineers the opportunity to build technology at scale, collaborate across teams and gain exposure to a wide range of technology.

Due to hyper growth, they are looking for a number of Engineering Managers to lead one of their autonomous teams and work on exciting complex projects. You will come from a background and experience in working on large scale distributed systems and companies handling large amounts of data.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and developing a team of autonomous and high performing engineers.
• Cut production level code that can be built upon by your team and the wider organisation.
• Identify and propose improvements to the current system architecture that will emphasise reliability and scalability.
• Owning complex product features end to end.
• Managing priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
• Collaborating with other teams to deliver new products.

Requirements include:

• Minimum 10 years experience in designing, building and operating large scale systems.
• Minimum 5 years managing high performing teams.
• Polyglot engineer with experience across a number of backend languages including Golang, Python, Scala, Java.
• Strong coding experience following best practices.
• Strong complex system architecture design experience and understanding; space/time complexity, API contract design and stewardship, AWS cloud-based infrastructure.
