Chef - Casual

Lilo cafe is seeking to employ a casual chef / cook to join our team. Lilo café is a daytime breakfast, brunch, lunch fully licensed café. A small menu that is of high quality using seasonal ingredients that is cooked to order.

We are in the suburb Mornington (away from Main Street) 725 Esplanade, opposite Fisherman’s Beach. Close to public transport and easy (free) parking.

Café hours 7am-3pm

The position will be a casual role with requirements to work some weekends. You would only be required to work one Sunday per month and every Saturday three to four shifts per week are on offer with full time work available if desired. This role would be most suited to a recently qualified chef or person looking to express ideas and contribute to daily specials. We are a small, dedicated team and enjoy our work, we get along and get the job done and have lots of fun along the way.

$35 per hour Monday – Friday. Weekends $40 per hour (for the right candidate)

All penalty rates are paid, and you won’t be chasing us for your superannuation.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• food preparation
• cooking to order
• plating of food
• baking of cakes & muffins
• assisting the head chef with ordering
• complying with all food health and safety requirements

Experience required:

- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a chef.

Other requirements:

• Must be able to work on weekends and rotating roster. You would like a weekend off? – no problem. We make this happen!
• Must be a strong team player and able to work in busy environment.
• Can do attitude and cooperative attitude.
• Passionate about providing high quality of food service.
• Sense of humour is essential
