Electrical Engineering Draftsperson

• $85,000 base salary plus superannuation (11.5%) per annum.

A fantastic opportunity has become available for an Electrical Engineer required for commercial and industrial applications. The opportunity is available within an established business of 15 years completing commercial, domestic and industrial work within an Electrical and HVAC business.

To be successful, applicants will require:

• Strong computer literacy
• Project forecasting ability
• Be self-motivated
• Work with project engineers and the estimating team
• Maintain an accurate record of all projects tendered and the relevant cost details submitted
• Conduct site visits to gather information on factors influencing project estimates
• Supervise and review drawings and plans to determine the scope of work, including but not limited to power stations, industrial plants, control and signalling equipment for the automotive sector inclusive of the road, rail and air industry.
• Preparing accurate electrical estimates and pricing for a job, taking into consideration all project requirements.
• Sourcing suppliers and understanding the materials, labour and equipment pricing involved.
• Ensuring designs that are developed to comply with legislation, standards and safety requirements across electrical machines, and equipment from the start to end process of generation, and control of power. This includes relevant laws around licensing and any regulations.
• Attend Tender interviews with management of PM’s/clients
• Prepare projects for handover to the construction staff
• Communicating with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Preparing and reviewing tender submissions.
• Skilled knowledge in BIM / REVIT
• Understanding in electrical technicalities regarding circuits, breakers, and circuit arrangement.
• Understand fire protection requirements across projects
• Understand drafting standards including power stations and equipment.
• Understand drawing detailing and design standards and regulations specific to electrical power.
  

Skills and experience:

• Tertiary qualifications and specialisation in electrical design.
• Experience estimating works in the commercial/industrial sector.
• Extensive experience in designing, developing, and supervising all stages from manufacturing to the maintenance of all electrical equipment and systems that generate and distribute electrical power, where all applicable licencing and regulations must be met.
