ABOUT THE POSITION

The Service Technician position is responsible for the servicing and maintenance of existing customers equipment at both site and workshop level. Domestic travel is required within this role.

The role is also responsible for the mechanical support of scheduled servicing, technical support, warranty repairs, & fabrication and modification as requested.

The role reports to the Senior Service Supervisor and Astec Australia expect all team members to ensure safety is always maintained.

Deliverables & Responsibilities

• Attend all training as required
• Carry out service/maintenance and fabrication/modification at the highest quality
• Prepare daily job reports and accurately record details
• Assist the service team with installations- as required
• Assist in operator training with customers
• Support the service team with all reasonable management instruction
• Dismantling and relocating mobile &/or fixed plant
• Work collaboratively with other team members & provide proactive solutions & actions to get the job done, safely and efficiently.

To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:

• Ability to self-manage & raise issues as they arise
• Certificate III Engineering or equivalent e.g. Plant Fitter/Maintenance Boilermaker.
• Experience within – Manufacturing/Process plant equipment.
• Highly Advantageous. Asphalt Plant experience.

Experience with Pneumatics & ability to troubleshoot faults

Experience with extra low voltage circuits – 12vdc – 24vdc, with ability to

troubleshoot faults.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Workshop/Warehouse/Yard Environment

The workshop/Warehouse/Yard environment exposures include exposure to moving mechanical parts, machinery, tools and equipment, vibration, fumes or airborne particles, motorized vehicles, welding and machining operations, outside weather conditions and exposure to the risk of electric shock.

The employee may occasionally be exposed to varying levels of dirt, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, very warm and/or very chilly temperatures. The noise level in the shop can be very loud at times consistent with an industrial assembly facility and may require hearing protection.
