The Opportunity
The Redevelopment Asset & Facility Co-Lead shall partner with the Redevelopment Clinical Co-Lead to provide collaborative leadership for the Port Macquarie Base Hospital (PMBH) redevelopment Project by managing the coordination of the Asset management component in the redevelopment to ensure the safe occupation and use of the new facility from handover.
As the LHD representative, the role is to manage and support the development and implementation of activities to ensure that the new facility can be optimally operated and maintained in support of staff, patients and visitors. Manage and support the development of systems of Maintenance to comply with legislative and business requirements. Ensure all design, construction and handover activities are undertaken with a "Whole of Life' approach to ensure asset performance is optimised over the life of the facility and the MNCLHD is placed in the best position possible to operate and maintain the facility from handover.

The $265 million redevelopment of Port Macquarie Base Hospital (PMBH) represents a significant investment in the region’s healthcare infrastructure, ensuring the hospital can continue to provide exceptional care to the growing local community and surrounding areas. This project will deliver critical upgrades and expansions that enhance patient care, improve accessibility, and support the dedicated healthcare team in meeting future demand.
Key features of the redevelopment include:
- Expansion of the Emergency Department – Increasing capacity to better accommodate the healthcare needs of the local population, ensuring faster and more efficient emergency care.
- New Maternity Unit and Special Care Nursery – Providing state-of-the-art facilities to support mothers, newborns, and families with high-quality, compassionate care.
- Enhanced Outpatient and Ambulatory Care Spaces – Improving accessibility and streamlining services to ensure patients receive timely and coordinated care outside of an inpatient setting.
- Upgrades to Critical Infrastructure – Modernising mechanical and essential building systems to improve operational efficiency, patient comfort, and sustainability.
About you
Do you have relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, project management, facility maintenance and/or building construction industry or with equivalent experience in redevelopment projects in a large and complex service environment, or a combination of study and work experience.
Do you have demonstrated project management experience in monitoring/managing large-scale, complex construction projects, including $100M+ building upgrades, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget and ensuring compliance with relevant building codes, safety standards/regulations, and quality requirements.
