Structural Steel Foreman/Supervisor
6 months fixed term contract
Location: Liverpool, Western Sydney
Start Date: ASAP
$80 - $100 per hour
Are you an experienced Structural Supervisor with a solid background in overseeing steel structures for commercial projects? We're seeking a capable and motivated Foreman/Supervisor to join the team as the Principal Contractor on a 5-story commercial building project in Western Sydney (Liverpool area). Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise & Coordinate: Oversee subcontractors and tradespeople to ensure efficient, high-quality work.
- Monitor Progress: Track daily and weekly progress, keeping the project on schedule.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct inspections, ensuring all work meets stringent project and regulatory standards.
- Problem Solving: Tackle technical challenges effectively, keeping work on track.
- Health & Safety: Enforce a safe work environment, adhering to all safety standards and regulations.
- Collaborative Reporting: Work closely with project management to report updates and proactively address any issues.
- Supervise and Coordinate Teams: Oversee subcontractors, tradespeople, and construction crews involved in structural steelwork.
- Monitor Project Progress: Track and report daily work progress to keep the project on schedule and ensure alignment with project timelines.
- Resolve Technical Issues: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical and structural challenges on-site.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce health and safety policies, ensuring all team members follow safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
- Scheduling and Planning: Develop and maintain work schedules, coordinating with other trades to prevent delays and optimise workflow.
- Material Management: Oversee the delivery, storage, and usage of structural steel materials to prevent waste and ensure availability.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of work performed, inspections completed, and any issues encountered, providing updates to project management.
- Equipment and Tool Management: Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment used in structural steel work.
- Collaborate with Project Management: Communicate regularly with project managers to update on progress, discuss adjustments, and address any emerging challenges.
- Inspection and Verification: Perform checks on structural steel components and connections to confirm alignment with blueprints and design plans.
- Training and Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship to crew members to ensure quality standards and improve skills within the team.
- Cost Control: Monitor costs related to labor, materials, and equipment, working to stay within budget constraints.
Ideal Candidate:
- Proven Experience: Prior supervision of steel structural and services crews on large commercial projects.
- Cultural Fit: Familiarity and good rapport with tradespeople, labour and management staff.
- Contract Flexibility: Willing to complete the project from start to finish.
