A recent opportunity has created a vacancy within our service and we are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Service Chef / Cook to join our team. The successful applicant will possess a passion for superior meal planning using fresh ingredients, preparing high quality and nutritious meals for children from 6 weeks to 6 years of age.

The Cook position encompasses the following:-

• Planning and preparation of nutritious meals for children from birth to 6 years of age
• Understanding and catering to the diverse allergy and dietary requirements of children
• Assisting in implementing our Foodie Friday's, as part of our Wellness Program (which will include children's cooking classes)
• Implementing the service's Food Safety Plan
• Delivering consistently high quality food and presentation to all work practices
• Undertaking all record reporting requirements
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with team members, parents, children and the wider community
• Responsible for the safe and clean conditions of the kitchen, to meet council requirements
• Placing of kitchen orders, whilst adhering to allocated budgets
• Responsible for kitchen audits to meet regulatory requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Food Safety Level 1 and/or 2 qualification
• Food Safety Supervisor qualification
• Working with Children Check
• A passion and enthusiasm for cooking
• A thorough understanding of allergy management and prevention
• A knowledge of nutrition and understanding of menu planning for children
• A desire to create nutritious and appealing meals for children
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
